The Story: The Canada Jay (*Perisoreus canadensis*), also known as the Grey Jay or Whisky Jack, is a year-round resident of the Canadian Boreal forest. This resilient bird is a symbol of the Canadian wilderness and a favorite sight on winter trails. This photograph captures the bird perched on a bare branch, showcasing its soft, insulating plumage that allows it to thrive in sub-zero temperatures. The muted, natural background emphasizes the subtle gray and white tones of its feathers. This image freezes a moment of quiet resilience in the heart of a Canadian winter.

Printed in my Winnipeg studio on Palo Duro SoftGloss Rag 315, a 315 gsm, 100% cotton fine art paper with a subtle semi-gloss finish.
