I’m Jason Lee, a Manitoba-based Métis photographer dedicated to the art of visual storytelling. Based in Winnipeg, I spend my days preserving the authentic connections that define a family and my weekends exploring the rugged beauty of the Manitoba wilderness. My goal is to craft timeless imagery—whether it’s a wedding at The Leaf or a fine art print of The Whiteshell—that your family will treasure for generations.

I am honoured to live and work on Treaty 1 Territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

A Recognized Standard of Excellence

Jason is an Accredited Professional Photographer (Pictorial/Scenic) with the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC). This peer-reviewed designation is awarded only after the successful submission of a portfolio of work evaluated by a panel of qualified judges. Each image is assessed on vision, impact, composition, and technical merit—ensuring a consistent standard of professional excellence within a chosen specialty.

In a field where “professional” can mean many things, this accreditation represents a commitment to craft, consistency, and accountability in the work delivered.

A Lifelong Connection to the Land & Métis Identity

My identity is deeply intertwined with the natural world. Beyond the lens, my heart has always belonged to the outdoors. As a Manitoba nature photographer, I’ve gone to great lengths to document the raw majesty of the Canadian landscape, from trekking to remote waterfalls with my tripod to navigating backcountry rivers by canoe.

Whether traveling by snowmobile to frozen northern lakes or exploring the rugged coasts of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, I strive to showcase the extraordinary beauty of our environment. Through my lens, I invite you to discover the vast, enduring beauty of the world around us.

The Early Years: Developing a Professional Eye

My journey began as a childhood fascination. I carried a camera everywhere, capturing everything that caught my eye. This passion matured in high school when I began working with a seasoned professional. That experience provided a high-pressure foundation in portraiture and live events while allowing me to master the technical nuances of digital editing and the professional industry.

Capturing Your Legacy: Winnipeg Weddings & Families

This same passion for authenticity drives my family photography in Winnipeg and my wedding work throughout Manitoba. I specialize in preserving the genuine connections that make your story unique—the spontaneous joy, the shared laughter, and the quiet, heartfelt moments. From a Winnipeg Newborn Session in my studio to an adventurous Whiteshell Wedding, my sessions are thoughtfully designed to produce soulful imagery that feels natural and true to you.

Bringing the Beauty of Nature to You

My portfolio of fine art landscape photography is available to bring a piece of the wild into your home or office. Every piece is personally inspected and signed by me, using museum-quality materials. I offer a variety of high-end mediums, including:

  • Metal Prints: vibrant gloss metal panels that arrive ready to hang.
  • Photo Rag Prints: unframed archival paper prints with protective coating.
  • Gallery-Wrapped Canvas: satin canvas protected with Eco Print Shield, stretched over wooden stretcher bars and ready to hang.
