Takakkaw Falls

- Description
Print Name: Takakkaw Falls
Captured: September 2019 | Location: Takakkaw Falls, Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada (Ktunaxa and Secwépemc Traditional Territory)
The Story: The name "Takakkaw" is a Cree expression meaning "magnificent" or "wonderful," a fitting title for one of Canada's tallest waterfalls. Fed by the meltwater of the Daly Glacier high in the Waputik Icefield, the falls maintain their impressive volume even in late summer. This photograph captures the vibrant, turquoise glacial water rushing over the rugged rocks in the foreground, leading the eye up to the 373-metre cascade as it plunges down the sheer cliff face. The image highlights the raw power and immense scale of the Canadian Rockies, a testament to the ongoing natural forces that shaped this stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Every print is personally inspected, and hand-signed by Métis artist Jason Lee.
