Seven Sisters Falls

- Description
Print Name: Seven Sisters Falls
Captured: August 2008 | Location: **Seven Sisters Falls**, Manitoba, Canada
The Story: A powerful scene capturing the **Seven Sisters Generating Station**, Manitoba's largest and first continuously operating hydroelectric power station on the **Winnipeg River**. The station was built in two stages between 1928 and 1952, replacing a series of seven natural rapids that gave the area its name. The image, captured in August 2008, showcases the immense power of the water as it's released through the spillways alongside the powerhouse. This structure was a major engineering feat of its time, vital for supplying electricity to Winnipeg and the surrounding region. It is now operated by Manitoba Hydro and is a testament to early 20th-century Canadian industrial history. This photo freezes a breathtaking second of this majestic display of harnessed natural power.
Every print is personally inspected, and hand-signed by Métis artist Jason Lee.
