Captured: July 2024 | Location: Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada
The Story: A powerful scene from the "Niagara of the North," Ontario's second-highest waterfall at 40 meters (130 ft) high. The Kaministiquia River cascades into a gorge carved out of the ancient Precambrian Shield, a process that has exposed 1.6-billion-year-old fossils at the base of the falls. The unique reddish-brown color of the water is due to iron-staining as the river flows over rich iron deposits in the bedrock. Captured in July 2024, the image perfectly balances the rushing, powerful water with the lush green Boreal forest surrounding the falls. Due to ongoing work at the generating station, the falls are experiencing higher-than-usual flow through the end of 2027, making the cascade even more spectacular.

Every print is personally inspected, and hand-signed by Métis artist Jason Lee.
